I have had the pleasure of working with John for over a decade across a span of projects. From real estate photos, corporate events, charity fundraisers, headshots and everything in-between, John is always professional and accommodating. John always gets “the shot” and then finds a way to surprise and delight with images or angles that may have gone unnoticed by the untrained eye. He is kind, gracious, punctual and an all around pleasure to work with. I never hesitate to reach out to him for my clients needs regardless of subject matter or medium. John consistently delivers and his professionalism is why I never hesitate to trust him with my clients photography needs.

I asked John to take some food shots for our family restaurant (Johnny Harris) a couple of years ago. He was very professional and took great care getting the shots and lighting just right. We used the photos to display mouth-watering plates of food on our new website that looked good enough to eat off the screen! Most recently we used John to take some keepsake portraits of our family at the restaurant which turned out awesome. He has the skill to not only capture the perfect macro shot, but landscapes, architecture and the most difficult assignment...people!

When it came to our wedding we knew John Alexander would capture our special day perfectly. From his care and attention to detail at our venues and ceremony, to the sweet photos he took when we didn’t think anyone was watching, he helped us create a lasting memory we will always cherish.

Not only is John visually and artistically gifted in photography, he’s easy to work with. We work together on Savannah: A Southern Journey, an annual book that 4.2 million visitors see when they come to Savannah each year. John’s photography is on the 2015 cover and also many of the pages throughout the book. His natural curiosity and love of life means he always captures the best moments — an entire story in one frame. He also works quickly and efficiently. When I need photos, I always seek out John.

I have had the pleasure of working with John over the past few years on a number of projects. Projects included events, glamour shots, and product shots. In addition, we were so pleased with his work that we hired John for our wedding in January 2013. On each job he was very professional. John is somewhat rare in this world. He’s quick to respond. He always shows up on time. He always honors his estimates. Yet, the best part of working with John is that our expectation of a  quality end product is always realized. I plan to continue to engage John’s services and would recommend him to others seeking professional photography.

We have been so fortunate to have John Alexander work with our local Affiliate on two recent projects: The 2014 Komen BigWig Campaign and the 2015 Savannah Race for the Cure. For both, he took our seed of a concept and turned it into an engaging and electric marketing campaign. He has a particular talent for expressing a thousand words with one photo. In our BigWig campaign, he was able to capture the playfulness of ten local business leaders who were each on a mission to raise money, all while wearing pink wigs. For our Race for the Cure Campaign, he captured the inner fight in each of ten local race participants who were anxious to encourage others to join the fight. And his talents do not stop with his photography. He then took these photos and turned them into powerful and bold poster and billboard designs. He does all this while laughing and putting everyone at ease. It is clear that he not only cares about his work, but he cares for those that he is photographing. His work on both of these campaigns was instrumental in their overwhelming successes. Thank you, John!

I have known John for many years. His photography speaks volumes. He is a very deliberate and compassionate photographer. It is easy to understand why he chose this profession. He makes his subjects fell comfortable and beautiful. I have personally been with him when he “shoots” the photograph for the Komen “Survivor of the Month” program.  These women that are his subjects have been through a personal battle against breast cancer and the last thing they have on their mind is “striking a pose” and having their picture taken for all to see. John allows these women to be themselves and her beauty is captured for all to see and behold. His calm, professional and easy going ways makes his subjects want to be the center of attention. It is quite obvious he loves what he does.

How do you capture the true essence of a wedding vow-renewal ceremony?  It’s easy, when John Alexander is the photographer you have chosen to put his indelible mark of excellence on every single one of the portraits.  Each time I look through our album, I am transported back to the memories of that unforgettable evening when we repledged our love and fidelity to one another.  Several months later, when it came time to choose a photographer for my father-in-law’s 90th birthday, I knew exactly who we wanted.  Once again, John’s photographs caught every wonderful moment of the party- from dad’s proud and dignified march into the hall to the photos of all the family, friends and members of the armed services that came to help him celebrate. John gets an A+ from the entire Suddath family, and I can’t wait for our next family event, so that I can call him back to work his magic once again.

John photographed our wedding, and he was so easy to work with. He got a variety of shots highlighting us, our family, and our guests. Not only are the pictures beautiful and of great quality, but they capture the outpouring of love that amazed us that day. Neither my husband not I usually feel very comfortable taking photos, but John let us just live in the moment, never making us feel pressured or awkward. He’s fun, friendly, reasonable, and good at his work!

John is the consummate professional. He immediately put everyone at ease, which for someone who prefers to be behind the camera instead of in front of it is a special skill! We LOVE our wedding pictures! Furthermore, I have also used John for corporate photography needs. Again, he’s always a professional and willing to go above and beyond... even strapping on a harness and going up 30 feet in a lift to get the shot!

Love John. WTOC used him to do portraits of our news talent. He is so relaxed and instantly puts people at ease. Everyone was very happy with the resulting photographs (and TV personalities are not always an easy bunch to please). I’m using him again for a personal project, and hope that we’ll have more opportunities to use him in the future. BTW, have you seen his NATURE photography? Stunning.
